Recognition of prior learning:

Recognition of prior learning (or RPL as it is commonly referred to) is the formal acknowledgement of a person’s current skills and knowledge. RPL is based around your whole competencies in a particular area whether it is from a combination of formal or informal training and education, work experience or general life experience.

If you would like to consider RPL for your course, you are able to receive an RPL form from one of our course advisors and complete it prior to enrolling. We also require photocopied documentation to support your application.

The cost of the RPL process is £65.00 and this fee will be deducted from your enrolment once it has been assessed and you commence your course.

The RPL fee is non-refundable should you decide not to proceed with enrolment after your RPL application.

Study Smart Online do not offer RPL for any of our specialised short courses.

Credit transfer.

Credit transfer is the recognition of previous formal learning (E.G. university qualifications). It uses an assessment of a previous course or subject that you have achieved to determine whether it can be credited toward the new course in which you wish to enrol.

This is by determining the extent to which your previous course or subject is equivalent to the required learning outcomes of the desired qualification.

Please note there may be different policies that apply for different courses that are offered in conjunction with our RTO partnerships. Please contact our course advisors to discuss this further if you have any questions.
