How to go about the practical for grooming:
It is important to have a range of animals around you if you would like to practice grooming at home. Otherwise undertaking some volunteer work at a local grooming centre can be an excellent experience for learning the practical art of grooming.
Go to a show and look at the animals being groomed before they are shown. Quite often you will find little tips here on how to handle animals that are nervous and also little tricks for keeping a coat looking shiny or smooth.
Grooming doesn’t just include clipping the hair on the animal; it also means cleaning the ears, trimming nails, and sometimes brushing their teeth! These are all things that are essential for keeping the animal healthy and some customers won’t like attending to these areas of grooming for their animal. These are all extras that you may provide for your customers if you are to be a professional groomer.
